My stove melted its own fuel line at Lost Creek last night

Set up camp near the creek, fired up my butane stove for coffee. After 10 minutes there was gas smell, then the line just softened and dripped. I shut it off quick but the damage was done, burned a small patch in my pack's side pocket. Soaked the whole thing in the creek to cool it down. Anyone seen this with a specific brand they used to trust, or is it all junk now?
