My tent pole snapped in the middle of a storm at Big Pine Creek last month

I had to tape it up with duct tape and a stick from the ground just to get through the night, has anyone else had a pole fail on them right when you needed it most?

Honestly duct tape and a stick is the OG tent repair kit. Glad you made it through that storm though.

Oh man, that stick trick is clever. @the_simon, did you have to whittle it down to fit or just jam it in there? I'm picturing you holding the whole thing together with duct tape like some kind of outdoor MacGyver.
