Rant: That REI tent leaked like a sieve in a light drizzle last night
Was camping up near Big Bear lake, not even a storm just steady mist, and water was dripping right through the seams on a tent I paid $250 for. Ended up wrapping my sleeping bag in a trash bag and sleeping under a tarp I had in my truck. Has anyone else had a brand new tent fail that fast?

Patricia's spot on, it's like everything's designed to break right after you get it home. I bought a brand new tent from a different big brand last year and the zipper just straight up gave out on the second trip. Not even like a stuck zipper, the whole thing split apart at the seam. I ended up taping it shut with duct tape for the rest of the weekend, which was a joke. You pay good money for something that's supposed to last and it just falls apart like cheap paper. Makes you wonder if they even test this stuff before putting it on the shelf.

Everything's made to fall apart right after you buy it these days.

Just bought a new coffee maker three months ago and the carafe already has a crack running through it. Figure either I'm paying for planned obsolescence or I just can't be trusted with glass objects at my age. Maybe they're onto something making stuff that falls apart, keeps me employed replacing it.
