The camp host at Lost Lake saved my trip with a $4 tarp trick

After fighting a leaky rainfly for two nights near Bend, the host showed me how to angle a cheap blue tarp over the high side of my tent, and honestly that simple fix kept everything dry through a 3 hour downpour, so has anyone else leaned on host tips instead of buying new gear?
