Chat with an old trapper north of Timmins changed my mind about mud tires
Guy named Marcel told me he runs plain ATV tires on his 2001 Polaris because he got sick of replacing bearings every season. Said the mud tires just hold wet clay and spin, but his old-school treads grip in muskeg and last 5 times longer. Made me think about all the cash I've blown on aggressive tires for nothing.

Did he mention what specific ATV tire pattern he's running? I've heard guys swear by the old school Carlisle or stock Polaris tires for that exact reason, but always figured they'd just get swallowed up in deeper holes.

Carlisle all day for that kind of riding. They're like a paddle tire but way lighter and don't sink in mud as bad. Stock Polaris tires are good for hardpack but they'll just spin and dig you deeper in a hole. Run low air pressure with the Carlisles and you're golden.
