Finally hit 1000 km on my 2019 Grizzly, and the weird part was what my odometer did at 999
So I bought this 2019 Grizzly 700 back in 2021 from a guy in Sudbury who barely rode it. It had 340 km on it. I have been riding the trails around Parry Sound and up toward Algonquin pretty much every weekend I can since then, and last Saturday on the Seguin Trail I finally watched it roll over 1000 km. Here is the thing nobody warns you about. At 999.9 the display just sits there for what feels like forever, then it clicks to 0000.0 and starts over from zero. I thought I broke something. My buddy Dave was behind me on his old Sportsman and he saw me pull over and start poking at the dash. He laughed and said his did the same thing back in 2018 and he almost called the dealer over it. I sat there on the side of the trail for ten minutes trying to figure out if the trip meter had eaten my real numbers or if the whole cluster was toast. Turns out it is normal, it just rolls over like an old car odometer. Anybody else get spooked by that rollover the first time, or am I the only one who panicked on the trail?
Buddy that rollover gets everybody the first time. Mine did the same thing on my 2016 and I sat there staring at it like an idiot waiting for the real number to come back. Four digits is all these clusters got, so 1000 just becomes 0000 and off you go again. Dave owes you a beer for not warning you sooner. Did it mess with your trip meter too or did that one stay put?
