Guy at the trailhead told me my tire pressure was way too high for mud riding
He pointed at my tires and said 'you're gonna float instead of dig in' so I dropped em from 15 to 6 psi and man did it make a huge difference in the boggy stuff, anyone else run super low pressure for deep mud?

My buddy Tim dropped his tires to 4 psi once in a swamp down near the coast and got totally stuck because the bead popped off when he hit a hidden log. He ended up having to hike two miles in the rain to get someone with a compressor. Now he won't run anything under 8 psi no matter how deep the mud gets.

4 psi is way too low without beadlocks in rocky terrain, but the real trick nobody talks about is running different pressures front and rear based on where your weight sits. I've found keeping the fronts at 8 and dropping the rears to 5 in deep mud keeps the beads seated and floats the heavy end better.
