North of Kenora last weekend my quad overheated on a rocky trail - what do you bring for emergency fixes?

I was riding up near Kenora last Saturday on a pretty technical section and my 2009 Polaris started running hot about 45 minutes in. The coolant was bubbling out of the overflow and I had to wait almost an hour for it to cool down enough to limp back. I usually just carry a basic tool kit and some extra water but that clearly wasn't enough that day. What do you guys carry in your packs for overheating issues on longer trips? Is there a decent aftermarket fan kit worth looking into for older machines?

Holy crap, 2009? I'm still rocking a 2006 and thought I was the last guy running one of those old beasts.
