Question about my 2019 Outlander, my fuel range on the dash dropped from 380 km to 300 km after one trip
Went up to Parry Sound for a weekend back in July and now my trip computer reads way shorter than it used to, even on the same trails I ride every year. Nothing changed except I added a winch and 27 inch tires, so is the computer just guessing off new weight and rolling radius, or did something in the fuel system actually get worse? Curious what you guys see on yours.
The part about "same trails I ride every year" is what stands out to me. If the terrain is the same but the range number dropped, that points to the truck working harder, not the computer lying. Those 27s are heavier and taller than stock, so the engine turns more rpm to hold the same speed, and the winch plus bumper weight adds up on hills. Did you recalibrate the speedo after the tire swap? If not, the computer is also doing math on the wrong distance, which skews the range estimate on top of the real fuel burn.
