Warning: Don't trust those cheap tire plug kits for ATV trails up north

Bought one of those $20 plug kits from Canadian Tire last spring before a trip up near Sudbury. First puncture on a root ripped the plug right out 10 minutes later. Had to walk 3km back to the truck. Buddy told me the rubber compound they use is garbage below 10 degrees. Stick with the name brand ones that cost $45 plus. Anyone else had a plug fail on them in colder weather?

Man its funny how cheaping out on anything always just costs you more time and money in the long run.

My first plug kit lasted exactly one rock and then I was that guy walking his quad back to the truck muttering about saving twenty bucks. Learned my lesson the hard way, now I just spend the extra cash and keep my feet dry.
