Canned corn in a pinch, my 3 day struggle with a stuck pop top

Bought 4 cans of corn last week for a quick side dish. Every single pop top ripped off halfway around, left a jagged edge. Took me 3 days and 2 different openers to figure out the trick. You gotta puncture the lid with a church key first, then use the pop tab. That little air hole stops the pressure from bending the whole top. Anyone else deal with these flimsy tabs on store brand cans?
