I fell for the 'premium canned soup' hype and wasted $12 on 4 cans that tasted exactly like the $1 store brand.
Spent $3 each on some organic bone broth soup at Whole Foods and my wife couldn't tell the difference from the 99 cent Progresso, so what's the actual point of spending more if the flavor is the same?

My brother spent $8 on that bone broth stuff once. Swore it was a game changer. I made him do a blind taste test with regular Swanson broth. He couldn't pick out the expensive one. That was it for me. Now I stick with the cheap stuff for everything. Seasoning makes way more difference than the brand anyway.

My grandma always made her stock from scratch with kitchen scraps and it ruined me for store bought stuff lol. @jessicaw54 you're totally right though, I did a similar test with my girlfriend using canned broth vs my homemade stuff and she actually picked the canned one once because I forgot to salt it properly. Now I just buy whatever's cheapest and throw in a bay leaf, some garlic powder, and a splash of soy sauce and it tastes way better than anything fancy. The secret is really just building flavor with what you already have in your pantry.
