Just had a guy at the food bank scoff at my canned chili trick

I was volunteering last Saturday sorting cans and this dude sees me stacking some and goes "canned chili is a waste, just buy beans and tomatoes." I told him I mix it with a can of corn and a splash of hot sauce, microwave for 90 seconds, and call it a meal for $2. He shut up after I let him try a bite. Anybody else got a canned food hack that changed someone's mind fast?

Chili doesn't really go bad. Canned food is already cooked, so it's shelf stable for years if the can isn't damaged.

'Shelf stable for years' but botulism doesn't care about your can's expiration date, Robert.
