Just realized canned tuna tastes way better if you drain it and then add a splash of balsamic vinegar instead of mayo

Gave up mayo for a week to see if I could make tuna salad work without it and that $3 bottle of vinegar from the bodega totally saved my lunch routine, anyone else got a weird canned food swap that actually improved things?

Seen a video on this where a guy added a tiny bit of miso paste to his tuna (like a half teaspoon) and swore by it. Tried it myself and it adds this weird savory depth that cuts the fishiness way better than mayo ever did. I usually just eyeball the amount but you gotta be careful, too much and it gets salty real fast.

A little gochujang works the same way but adds a sweet kick too.
