My buddy told me I was wasting beans by draining the liquid from canned chili

He said to just dump the whole can in the pan without draining and it thickens up way better with all that starch, so now I save myself a step and a mess, has anyone else got a tip like that that flipped how you prep something?

Draining the can is like a second of effort, is it really that deep?

HOLD UP, @sage52 you're missing the real deal here. I used to drain mine too but then I tried dumping the whole can in for chili mac and it was a game changer. That liquid is pure magic for thickening things up. So now I never drain it unless im making something like chili dogs where I want it more scoopable. You're saving mess and flavor at the same time.
