My mother used to make tuna casserole with canned soup and I see people skipping the cream of mushroom now

I keep reading posts where folks just dump plain canned tuna on pasta and call it a meal, but that one can of cream of mushroom soup mixed in makes all the difference for texture and flavor. Am I the only one who thinks people are overcomplicating simple pantry dinners these days?

Wait is this really that deep though? Like yeah cream of mushroom is good but it ain't that serious. Plenty of people grew up on plain tuna and noodles with maybe some frozen peas thrown in and called it a day. It's not like anyone is running a Michelin star kitchen here. I've had both versions and honestly the soup one is just slightly less sad looking. The real crime is when people skip the crushed potato chips on top that's the actual game changer.

Oh man, I am 100% that person who once tried to make tuna casserole without the soup because I was out and thought "how different could it be?" Spoiler alert: it was basically wet cardboard with fish chunks. I ended up dumping a whole jar of alfredo sauce in there just to save it, which honestly made me question all my life choices. So yeah, keep the cream of mushroom, I learned my lesson the hard way.
