That security guard at the 7-Eleven on 5th taught me a can trick
I was microwaving soup in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven on 5th in Des Moines last month, and the night guard, Ron, came over to check on me. He saw me struggling with a bent pull tab on a can of chili and showed me how to open it using the back of a spoon instead. Told me he survived 3 winters in a cabin with nothing but a can opener and a spoon, and now I swear by flipping the can over and wedging the spoon edge into the rim seam. Anyone else got a weird opener trick that beats the actual tool?
