Tried using canned evaporated milk for coffee on a camping trip last weekend...
Ran out of fresh milk at the campsite near Lake George. A buddy said just crack open a can of evaporated milk. Figured it would be nasty but honestly it was creamy and didn't curdle. Anyone else use canned stuff for coffee or cooking when you're out of fresh?

Bro right? Canned evaporated milk is like the sleeper hit of camping gear. Lake George water is basically liquid regret for coffee, that acidic nonsense ruins everything. I always pack a can now too, it's way more stable than those tiny creamer packets that explode in your bag. Plus if you don't use it all for coffee you can make a weirdly good mac and cheese with it.

Camping at Lake George and not curdling is a huge win honestly... that acidic lake water always makes my coffee taste weird. I keep a couple cans of evaporated milk in my emergency kit now for exactly this reason. Smart idea with the can though, I never would have thought of trying it myself.
