Vent: I thought canned sardines were just for emergencies until I tried them on crackers with hot sauce

After six months of ignoring a tin in my pantry, I finally cracked it open last Tuesday and realized I've been missing out on a solid 2 dollar lunch that actually tastes good, so has anyone else had a canned food they dismissed for years that turned out to be a sleeper hit?

Man, right? I had a can of smoked oysters sitting in my cabinet for like two years. Finally tried them on saltines with a squeeze of lemon. Total game changer. Warm them up a bit first, it makes a difference. Never would've guessed cheap little tins could be that good.

Used to think tinned fish was gross. This changed my mind completely.
