Changed my mind about paying for a professional resume review
I spent about $300 on a service to redo my resume and cover letter after being stuck in my job hunt. I was really hesitant (that's a lot for some paper, right?). But they didn't just format it, they found the weak spots in how I described my project management work. I got a call for an interview the week after I started using the new version, and I start the new job next month. Has anyone else had a good or bad experience with a paid career service like that? I'm curious if it's worth it for things like LinkedIn profiles too.

Isn't that just paying someone to tell you what you already know?

Used to think that too, but having someone actually point it out makes you act on it.

Oh come on, it's not quite that simple! A good coach or therapist knows how to ask the right questions that make you see things from a new angle. Like yeah, maybe deep down you know the answer, but you've been buried in your own junk and can't see the forest for the trees.
