Had the worst interview of my life last Tuesday at a marketing firm in Austin

I blanked on a basic question about campaign metrics and the interviewer just stared at me for what felt like five minutes. Has anyone else bombed an interview so bad you knew halfway through it was over?

Maybe the awkward silence was a test to see how you handle pressure in a real campaign meeting. That blank stare could have been their way of seeing if you'd recover and redirect the conversation.

Consider if they were testing your comfort with silence instead of your metrics knowledge. Some interviewers believe silence shows if you'll naturally fill the gap with useful talk or just babble nervously. You might have passed by staying quiet rather than forcing an answer you didn't have.
