Honestly surprised I just hit 50 freelance writing gigs this year

Ngl, it mattered because I was ready to quit after only landing 3 in the first quarter, so what's a good next small goal to aim for?

That 3 to 50 jump is the real win. I would stop counting gigs now and just focus on raising your rates for the next one. The number doesn't matter as much as what you earn from it.

That "ready to quit" part is huge. You pushed through a really rough start. For a next goal, are you trying to make more money per gig, or is it more about hitting a certain number again? Like, aiming for 75 total, or maybe focusing on getting repeat clients from the 50 you already have?

Oh man, congrats on pushing through that first quarter slump! I'd say go with @lee.lucas's take on rates. Before you chase another number, maybe try bumping your price for the next three gigs and see if they still bite. If it works, you'll make more doing less work.
