Hot take: that career coach who told me to "follow my passion" was dead wrong

Met with a coach named Jen in Austin back in March. She said if I just quit my accounting job and pursued photography full time, the money would follow. I listened, quit in April, and by July I was $4,000 in debt with no clients and a maxed out credit card. Has anyone else had a career coach give bad advice that set you back?

March 2019? You quit in April and were already $4,000 in the hole by July - that's only like 3 months man, that's insane.

Oh man, that's brutal. I mean I've seen people burn through cash before but that's just next level. Idk how you even recover from something like that.
