I quit a stable job for a landscaping startup and it paid off in 6 months
Left my warehouse supervisor position in March 2023 to join a buddy's new landscaping company. Everyone told me I was crazy walking away from health insurance and a 401k. By September I was making $2,000 more a month than my old salary, plus I get to work outside. Has anyone else taken a big risk like this and had it work out better than you expected?

Wait, did your buddy already have customers lined up or did you guys start with zero clients? Cause that kind of jump in 6 months sounds more like you jumped into an existing operation, not a new startup from scratch.

Oh man, this is exactly what happened to me, no joke... My buddy was just starting out with like 2 clients and a beat up old truck when I left my warehouse job. Everyone thought I was losing it, especially my mom. But we just busted our tails, did good work, and word of mouth took off. By month five I was already making more than my old paycheck, plus no more breathing in dust all day. It's wild how people think you're crazy for chasing something better, but sometimes you just gotta trust your gut and your buddy...
