I tried cold emailing 100 recruiters instead of applying online and got zero replies

Did 100 targeted cold emails over two weeks with custom subject lines and short bios, not one response, so is the whole 'network don't apply' thing just a myth or did I mess something up?

Yeah I used to be all in on the whole 'skip the application just network your way in' thing but honestly this kinda proves it's not that simple. Like maybe it works for some people but it's way more random than people make it sound.
