Paid $300 for a resume writing service and got back a total mess

I was stuck in a job hunt a few months ago and decided to shell out $300 for a professional resume writer. They claimed they knew the industry I was in, but the final version had my dates all wrong and used buzzwords like 'synergy' that I never use. I had to rewrite the whole thing myself over a weekend, and I honestly felt like I wasted both money and time. Has anyone else tried a resume service and ended up fixing their own work anyway?

Bought one for $250 and it was basically a mad lib with my name on it.
