PSA: it took me 11 weeks to write a two line resume summary and here is what finally worked
I kept freezing up on the top of my resume for almost three months. Every draft sounded like a robot wrote it, so I would close the doc and tell myself I would fix it after dinner. My friend Dana, who works in HR at a hospital in Denver, looked at draft number 14 and asked me one question: what do you actually do all day? I wrote down 5 tasks in plain words, picked the 3 that had numbers attached, and typed them out in about 20 minutes. I had been trying to sound impressive instead of just being clear, which is why it took 11 weeks to do 20 minutes of work. If you got stuck on this too, what finally got you unstuck, a friend reading it or just walking away for a bit?
