Saw a stat about how many people quit within 90 days and it hit me hard
I was reading through a report from the Society for Human Resource Management last night and found out that nearly 30% of new hires quit within the first 90 days. That blew my mind because I always thought people stuck it out for at least a year before deciding to leave. Has anyone else seen onboarding strategies that actually work to fix this?

Huh, I actually just saw a TikTok from this HR consultant who broke down why that 30% number is so high, and it made a lot of sense. She said most companies just throw a new person into a pile of paperwork and a boring PowerPoint about company values, then act surprised when they leave. The one thing she said actually worked was a simple buddy system where someone not their boss checks in with them for the first few weeks, not to ask about work but just to see how they're settling in. Seems like common sense but most places skip it completely.

Yeah, that buddy system thing is key. Most places act like once someone signs the paperwork they're fine, but checking in on how they're feeling not just how they're working is totally different. You (@jade32) found exactly the right TikTok on that.
