Serious question, am I the only one who realized they were interviewing wrong after 15 years?

I spent over a decade thinking the key was memorizing perfect answers to common questions, but last month a hiring manager at a small firm in Denver told me my rehearsed responses felt "robotic and cold." That comment hit me hard because I realized I had been trying to impress people instead of just having a normal conversation and showing who I actually am. Has anyone else had that moment where a recruiter or boss straight up told you your approach was off?

Same thing happened to me, a recruiter said I sounded like I was reading off a script.

Huh, I guess I'm not convinced that's such a huge deal. Recruiters say all kinds of stuff, half the time they're just reading off their own screening checklist. @faith_thomas probably just caught someone on a bad day.
