That Tuesday I landed my biggest client yet out of nowhere

I had been chasing this commercial HVAC contract for like 4 months. Sent quotes, did walkthroughs, the whole dance. Nothing came back. Then last Tuesday I got a call while I was knee deep in a rooftop unit at 95 degrees. The guy said they want to start next week, full building, 14 units. I almost dropped my phone. The check was $8,200 upfront for materials and first phase labor. I had to sit in my truck for five minutes just letting it sink in. Made my whole month, honestly. Has anyone else had a deal just fall in your lap after you gave up on it?

I heard somewhere that this happens way more than people realize - something about how the timing just clicks when you've already proven your competence through the earlier legwork. Had a buddy in construction who said his biggest checks always came right when he'd mentally moved on to the next thing. Kinda makes you wonder if there's something to that whole "let it go and it'll come back" idea.
