Took a pay cut for a better title - worth it or not?
I had to choose between staying at my old job making $62k as an assistant or taking a new gig as a coordinator for $55k. I went with the title bump because I thought it would help me move up faster down the road. Six months later I'm applying to manager jobs and the coordinator title is getting me more callbacks, but I'm still struggling with the lower paycheck. Has anyone else traded money for a fancier title and actually had it work out?

The coordinator title was a smart move even if the pay hurts right now. Once you land that manager job you can use that higher offer to negotiate back up past what you lost. Just think of it as a temporary investment in your resume.
