Took me 3 years to accept a coworker's advice on my resume and it actually worked

I always thought my resume was fine because I had all the job duties listed out. A senior dev I barely knew at a conference in Columbus told me my resume read like a shopping list and nobody cares about duties, they want results. He said to put numbers on everything like 'cut server response time by 20%' or 'led a team of 4 on a 6 month project'. I changed my whole resume that night and got 3 interviews in the next two weeks. Has anyone else had one piece of feedback that completely flipped how you apply for jobs?

Same here. Numbers changed everything on my resume.

Ha yeah, numbers are basically magic. Before I had them on my resume, employers thought my biggest accomplishment was showing up on time.
