Used to rewrite my resume for every single job posting until a recruiter friend told me to keep a master version and just tweak 2-3 bullet points instead

Wasted 4 hours on each application before she showed me her own 2-page master doc last month, and now I land interviews in half the time, has anyone else found a system that cuts down application time?

Yeah that master doc trick is gold. Saves so much time and keeps your brain from melting. Once you have a solid base its just swapping a few keywords per job.

Honestly I used to think that master doc stuff was just lazy people trying to cut corners. Like how is that fair to the people who write fresh applications every time right? But then I tried it for myself and wow was I wrong. Having that base doc means I actually have more energy to tweak the parts that matter instead of starting from zero every single time. It's not about being lazy it's about working smarter. Now I get why people swear by it because my brain definitely doesn't melt anymore.
