Wasted $400 on a career coach who just Googled stuff during our calls
I hired a career coach last year thinking they'd help me switch industries. After six sessions at $400 total, all they did was read off articles I could find myself. One time they literally paused for five minutes to look up a salary range mid-call. I feel so ripped off and wish I'd just asked friends for advice instead. Has anyone else had a useless coach experience like that?

The real question is if that career coach had ever actually held a job themselves. My brother paid a "business mentor" who turned out to be a part-time real estate agent who never ran a company bigger than a lemonade stand. Got to wonder if some of these people are just good at selling the idea of being successful instead of actually being successful. Could be you paid for a masterclass in bluffing.
