Finally caved and bought a $300 cordless track saw for a built-in job, and it saved my whole weekend.

Get a good blade for it, the one it comes with is usually junk. A nice fine-tooth blade makes those long cuts in plywood feel like butter. You'll wonder how you ever used a circular saw and a straight edge.

Honestly, that factory blade is probably fine for most people. Spending another 50 bucks on a fancy blade right after buying the tool is overkill. A track saw is already a huge step up from a circular saw, so the cut will be clean enough for building cabinets or shelves. The real time saver is the track itself, not some magic blade.
1
