I finally threw out my old bevel gauge after 12 years
Last week I was marking out a rafter on a job site near Portland and my bevel gauge slipped for the third time that day. I bought it at a hardware store in 2012 for like 8 bucks and the wing nut was stripped to hell. Picked up a new one from Empire at Home Depot and man, the difference is night and day. Has anyone else kept using a worn out tool way longer than they should have?

It's funny how we get attached to busted tools like that. I notice it happens with everything, not just tools. People keep using the same worn out spatula or that one kitchen knife that can barely cut butter because it's familiar and they know its quirks. There's a fine line between being frugal and just making your life harder for no good reason.
