My boss said I was cutting crown molding wrong for 5 years
I always cut crown molding flat on the saw table, but my boss told me I should be cutting it upside down and backwards to get a cleaner fit. I tried his way on a job last week and the corners came out way tighter with less caulk needed. Which way do you guys cut crown and has anyone else had to unlearn their old method?

That "upside down and backwards" thing was a game changer for my buddy Mike, he'd been fighting with crown for years until his old man finally showed him the trick. Did you feel dumb when you saw how much better it fit?

Actually crown molding should be cut upside down but facing the same direction as it'll hang, not backwards.
