Picked up my first dovetail chisel set last month and it changed how I cut joinery
I was in Seattle at a tool swap and grabbed a set of three Narex chisels for $45. They were beat to hell but I spent an evening sharpening them on my water stones. Last week I used them on a walnut jewelry box and the difference is huge compared to my old Irwin set. The edges hold way longer and I can pare cleaner without the chisel wandering. My shoulder joints came out tight with almost no gaps on the first try. Has anyone else had luck with vintage chisels or am I just lucky with this set?

Used to think pricey chisels were overrated but that set proved me dead wrong.

Yeah, "beat to hell" and "works great" is basically the woodworker's love story.
