That 20 year joiner was right about nail guns and I should have listened

I had an older bloke named Pete who's been framing houses for over 30 years tell me to never buy a cheap coil nailer. Said I'd regret it within a month. I figured he was just being a snob about his old Senco gear so I went and bought a budget brand from the hardware store for about $140. First two weeks it was fine. Then on a Wednesday afternoon I'm up on a roof doing trusses in the rain and the thing jams every third nail. Took me an hour to clear one jam because the plastic guide cracked. Ended up borrowing a guys Hitachi to finish the job. That cheap nailer is now sitting in my shed collecting dust. I replaced it with a used Paslode I found on Marketplace for $200 and it's been running smooth for 8 months now. Has anyone else had a similar experience with a tool where saving money upfront cost you twice as much in the long run?

Yeah but the other thing nobody talks about is how those cheap nailers wreck your timing. You get used to the jams and misfires and it messes with your rhythm all day. That frustration tax is real, you know?
