TIL at the Schenectady job site that a $30 nail gun rebuild kit can save you $400 on a new gun
Blew the o-rings on my Paslode framing nailer during a deck build last Thursday, and the old timer on site showed me how to swap 'em in 20 minutes instead of trashing it... has anyone else found a good brand for those rebuild kits?

Paslode is decent but the o-rings they use are garbage honestly. I got a rebuild kit from O'Reilly's last year for my Hitachi and it was like 22 bucks and worked perfect. The old timer was right though, those kits are a lifesaver if you don't want to blow a hundo on a new gun. Just make sure you grease everything good before you put it back together.

Man, I totally agree! Hitachi makes some solid nail guns. I had a similar thing happen with my Hitachi framing nailer a couple years back. The o-rings went bad on mine too, and I was about to toss it and buy a new one. But a buddy of mine told me to try a rebuild kit from Grainger for like 18 bucks. Worked like a charm after I greased everything up real good. Still using that same gun today and it's been through hell with all the decking and framing jobs I do. People sleep on how good those older Hitachi guns are if you just take care of them.
