Took me 5 years to realize I was measuring twice and cutting once... but from the wrong side of the tape every time
Noticed my cuts were always a hair short until a guy named Mike at a job site in Austin pointed out I was reading the 1/16 marks from the hook side instead of the actual blade, made me feel like a total rookie, has anyone else had a dumb measuring habit that took forever to break?

I read somewhere that half the guys in trades do the same thing for years before someone calls them out on it.
