Appreciation post: I thought the 'two knife' seam trick was just for show
For years, I'd just use my one good knife for everything, but my buddy in Kansas City swore by keeping a separate, super sharp one just for trimming the seam tape. Tried it on a Berber job last Tuesday and the cut was so clean I didn't need to touch it up. Anyone else have a 'silly' trick that actually works?

My cousin in Denver watched an old guy use a putty knife to spread wallpaper paste. He said it was a dumb idea until he saw how smooth it went on without any bubbles. Now he keeps a cheap plastic one in his kit just for that. It looks wrong but it works every time. Why do the weird tricks always turn out to be the good ones?
