Found out my seam roller was the wrong size for 14 months
I was reading an old Carpet & Flooring trade journal from 2019 at a job site and came across a sizing chart for seam rollers. Turns out the standard 2 inch roller I've been using on residential jobs is meant for thin commercial carpets, not the plush pile I do 90% of the time. For that, you need a 3 inch roller with more weight behind it. I checked my tools and sure enough, mine was the small one. All those invisible seams I thought were fine, probably weren't as tight as they could have been. Has anyone else bothered to check their roller diameter against the carpet type, or am I the only dummy who just grabbed whatever was in the van?
