Hit 500 yards of carpet stretched in one house and my back felt fine
Did a big job in a new build over in Springfield last week, a huge open floor plan. When I added it up after day two, I had pulled and tacked over 500 linear yards of carpet without a single knee pad or back brace. The key was using my 12-inch power stretcher for every single piece, even the small ones, and keeping my feet planted instead of lunging. Anyone else find that sticking to the big tool for everything saves your body more than you'd think?

Notice how often the right tool for the job is also the one that saves your body. People skip it thinking it's overkill, but that's when you get hurt. Your story just proves the rule.

You actually tried to lift that without a hoist?

Nodding along with seanh91 on that. The right tool feels like overkill until you're limping the next day because you thought you could save ten minutes.
