Spent $450 on a power stretcher and it paid for itself in 3 weeks

I finally got tired of borrowing my buddy's power stretcher every time I had a big room to do. Dropped $450 on a Roberts 10-60 with the knee kicker attachment. First job was a 20x15 living room and I got it done in half the time I usually take. No more fighting with a manual stretcher and calling the guy back because a corner popped up. The stretch was solid, no ripples, customer was happy. But now I'm wondering if the cheap manual knee kickers are really that bad or if it's just me. Has anyone else made the switch and regretted spending the cash?

Man that $450 stings but three weeks to pay it off is solid. I borrowed a friends manual knee kicker for a 12x14 bedroom and the corner popped up three times before I gave up and just went back to my old cheap stretcher. Now I'm doing a 30x15 great room with vaulted ceilings next week and I'm already dreading the manual stretch. Might have to bite the bullet like you did. I hate spending that kind of money but time is money and you proved it.

Oh man, I feel that line about the corner popping up three times. That's basically the story of my life with manual stretchers, just add a few more swear words and a kicked wall. Honestly, spending that $450 felt like getting punched in the wallet but after fighting with a manual one on a vaulted ceiling job I was ready to throw the whole thing through a window. The cheap knee kickers aren't just bad, they're basically a scam that tricks you into thinking you saved money while you waste hours re-stretching the same spot. Three weeks to pay it off means you're basically losing money by not buying one.
