Swapped my knee kicker for a power stretcher on every job last month

I used to think knee kicking was faster for small rooms like my 12x12 master bath, but after three days of sore knees I finally bought a power stretcher and finished that same room in 45 minutes. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference in their lower back pain?

Yeah I get what you mean @paul_webb45. It's funny how we always think the new tool will fix everything until we find out it just swaps one problem for another. Same thing happened with my brother when he bought a fancy shop vac for his garage - quieter but heavier and harder to move around corners. Give it another week and you'll probably settle into using both depending on the job.

Keep your knee kicker handy for another week before you make the call. I still use mine in bathrooms where the layout has a lot of turns, like a hall bath with a toilet and a vanity at weird angles. A power stretcher is too bulky in those tight spots and you end up cranking it against a wall or a tub. Also, my lower back pain actually got worse when I switched because I was leaning over the tool more to get the right tension. For my 10x10 half bath, knee kicking still takes me 20 minutes and the carpet looks just as tight.
