That huge seam split open on me in a living room yesterday

I was working on a job in a pretty nice house over in Oak Park, doing a big 12x18 living room with this thick plush carpet. Everything was going fine until I got to the seam near the doorway - the glue just didn't take on the backing and it popped open right as I was stretching the adjacent piece. Had to rip out about 3 feet of the seam, re-trim both edges, and re-seam it with a fresh bead of adhesive and a hot iron. Took me an extra 45 minutes and I was already running behind schedule. Anyone else ever have a brand new roll of glue just fail like that for no reason?

lilyo30 is really out here testing the limits of what we can blame on a cold floor. That's a wild guess considering how clean that peel looks. I've seen some bad flooring but that's a whole new level of separation.
