Worst day of the year so far - a glue down job from hell
Last Tuesday I had a glue down job in a 3 bedroom house where the subfloor was absolutely soaked. The homeowner said it was fine but I could feel moisture through the concrete. I installed the carpet anyway because they were pushing me to finish. By Friday every seam had lifted and the whole thing had to be ripped out. Cost me $400 in materials and a full day of rework. Has anyone else dealt with homeowners who ignore moisture readings?

Yo, that sucks man, and I feel your pain but here's the thing nobody's talking about - you might have a legal angle here if you had written proof of the moisture readings. I learned the hard way that homeowners will lie through their teeth to get the job done fast, and then blame you when it fails. If you didn't do a written moisture test report with both of you signing off on it, you're basically covering for their mistake. Next time, take photos of the moisture meter reading and text them to the homeowner with a message saying "just so you know, the floor is reading X% moisture, that's above the safe limit, proceed at your own risk." That way when it goes sideways, you've got proof they ignored the warning. It sounds like a pain but it saves your wallet and your reputation.
