Finally chose a dual deck over a single, my mix quality changed fast

I was stuck deciding between a basic single deck and a used dual deck at a shop downtown. The dual was $40 more but let me copy tapes directly without messing with two separate players. I picked the dual and now my mixtapes for trades come out way cleaner, no more cable guessing. Has anyone else made the jump for copying purposes, or do you stick to one deck and a recorder?

Noticed this is how it goes with almost everything, not just tape gear. Once you stop fighting the setup and just get the right tool for the job, the quality jumps without you even trying. Same with my record player, spent months messing with cables and adapters, then just got one with a preamp built in and suddenly everything sounded right. Makes me wonder how much of my old stuff was actually bad vs just me making it harder than it had to be. You probably saved yourself a ton of headaches down the road too, even if it cost a little more upfront.
