Last Saturday I found a sealed 1985 Bon Jovi tape at a garage sale for 50 cents

The plastic was still on it and the tape smelled like the 80s when I opened it. I played it in my car deck and it sounded better than most of my newer tapes. Has anyone else had a lucky find like that make your whole week?

Does finding old sealed tapes make you wonder what songs got left off streaming services and how much cultural history is just rotting in attics right now? I mean, people forget tapes degrade differently than vinyl or CDs, so that Bon Jovi might actually sound more like 1985 than any digital remaster ever could. It makes me think about what we're losing when we only chase clean digital copies instead of the physical artifacts.

Man that's awesome! I found a copy of Michael Jackson's Thriller on vinyl at a thrift store for a dollar a few years back, still had the original poster inside. It made me feel like I won the lottery or something, just sitting in my car grinning at my dumb luck.
